Our office is situated in the heart of the coastal town of Bridlington located between Natwest Bank and Murray Hills Solicitors on King Street. This area has historically been one of the primary trading streets in the town and our office dating back over 150 years, is steeped in history. It has survived two world wars with destruction just meters from its doors, and we are proud to call it our home.
For a significant part of its life the building was the Bridlington branch of Beckett & Company Bank, also known as the East Riding Bank of Beckett & Co - one of the largest banks in Yorkshire. The bank was joined by a number of other banks on King Street around the turn of the 20th Century, including the adjoining Westminster Bank and National Bank. In 1906 Beckett's Bank was taken over by our neighbours Westminster Bank which later merged into NatWest which is still operating next door to us today.
For those visiting our office you can still just make out some of the letters of the old name above our windows and the Beckett family crest survives along with some of the other original features.
